  • Bungalow No. 32 Compound, shapoor marfatia (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
My grandmother, Goola Marafatia helped the Bunglow No. 32 community grow from scratch. She was the first to rent plots and support displaced Sindhis from Pakistan after India's partition, as well as poor Muslim families in the bungalow. Several of these families, despite bloody past live there happily, wall-to-wall. She also maintained a small library for Hindus till her last day, in her home and worked for Yug Nirman Yojna to raise funds to build Gayatri Shakthi Peeth in Neemuch. I cherish wonderful memories associated with my grandma and my childhood at that place. I last visited Neemuch in 1987 but Bunglow No. 32 remains fresh in my memories. Anyone there is welcome to contact me - sbmarfatia@yahoo.ca. I am presently in Canada and I hope one day, I will see Bunglow No. 32 once again.
